About TWS Publications
Who are TWS Publications?
We are one of Pakistan’s leading publishing houses, working with writers nationwide to publish, market and grow their literary careers, through solo books, anthologies, magazines and author services.
What can I publish with you?
You can publish your own solo book, join a themed anthology as a co-author, or be featured in one of our literary magazines. We also offer editing, design, distribution and marketing on their own.
Where are you based?
We work with writers across Pakistan and publish nationwide.
Do you work with first-time writers?
Yes. Many of our authors are first-time writers, and we guide you through every step of the process.
Do you publish in Urdu as well as English?
Yes. We publish and produce work in both Urdu and English.
How do I get started?
Register as an author for a solo book, or submit a sample for an anthology or magazine. Our team reviews your work and guides you from there.
How do I get in touch?
Email info@twspublications.com or message us on WhatsApp. A person always replies.
Solo book publishing
How do I publish my book with TWS?
Register as an author and send us your manuscript. Our editors review it, confirm whether it is eligible for publication, and guide you through choosing a package and the stages that follow.
What publishing packages do you offer?
Four: Debut, Standard, Spotlight and Bestseller, scaling from an affordable first book to a full flagship launch with nationwide distribution and marketing. See them on our publishing process page.
How much does it cost to publish a book?
It depends on the package and your book’s specifications, so we share a clear quote once we have reviewed your manuscript, with no hidden charges.
How long does it take?
Most books are ready within a few weeks to a few months, depending on the package and the marketing involved.
What royalty do I earn?
From 50% on Debut up to 80% on Bestseller, among the highest royalty rates any publisher in Pakistan offers.
What genres do you publish?
Fiction, poetry, non-fiction, essays, academic work and children’s books, in English and Urdu.
Do I need a finished manuscript to start?
Ideally yes, as we review the complete manuscript before publishing. If you are still writing, you can register and send a sample, and we will guide you.
Will my book get an ISBN and be sold online?
Yes. ISBN registration is included, and your book is listed and sold on our store, with Amazon and wider distribution available by package.
Can I use my own cover or editing?
Yes. If you already have a finished cover, edited manuscript or print-ready file, let us know and we will adjust your package and quote.
Anthologies
What is an anthology?
A themed book written by many authors together. Each co-author writes one piece around a shared theme, and every piece is published side by side in one professionally produced book.
How do I join an anthology?
Choose an open theme and submit a single piece of up to 1,500 words, and our editors review it. Selected writers are added to the co-authors’ group and confirm their place with the registration fee.
How long should my submission be?
Up to 1,500 words, in any genre: a poem, a short story, an essay or a memoir.
What do I receive?
Publication as a co-author, printed author copies, a personalised certificate, and promotion of the finished book on the TWS store.
Which themes can I choose from?
We run a range of themed projects, including an open-themed Writing Contest, with new anthologies opening regularly. You choose your project on the submission form.
Can I apply for a theme that is not open yet?
Yes. Apply for the project your writing belongs to, and your sample stays on file to be reviewed when that project opens.
How does the Writing Contest work?
It is our open-themed project, so you may write on any subject. Every selected writer is published, and one standout piece wins a cash prize.
Do I keep the rights to my work?
Yes. We licence only the right to include your piece in this edition of the anthology; every other right stays with you.
Magazines
What is a TWS magazine?
A themed literary magazine published in print and digital editions, featuring many writers around a shared subject, with new issues opening for submissions regularly.
How do I submit to a magazine?
Choose the magazine your writing belongs to and send your sample. Our editors review it, and selected writers confirm their place with the contributor fee and prepare their final work.
How long can my submission be?
Poetry up to 40 lines, and prose up to 3,000 words, as a Word document or PDF.
Can I submit work that has been published before?
Yes. Previously published work is welcome.
Which magazine can I submit to right now?
One magazine is usually open at a time. You can see the open issue on the submission page, and apply for others to be considered when they open.
Will my work appear in print and digital?
Yes. Every issue is published in both a print and a digital edition.
How long until I hear back?
Selected writers are contacted within about a week of submitting. If you do not hear from us within a week, please consider your submission unsuccessful.
Who can submit?
Writers residing in Pakistan, of all ages and backgrounds.
Rights, payments and support
Do I keep the rights to my work?
Yes, across everything we publish. We only ever licence the specific edition we publish for you; your copyright stays yours.
Is my work kept confidential?
Yes. Anything you send us is treated with complete confidentiality and is never shared or published without your permission.
How are fees and payments handled?
Solo publishing is quoted for your book after review; anthologies and magazines have a set registration fee shown when you submit. All details are confirmed with you in writing before anything begins.
Can I pay for solo publishing in instalments?
Full payment upfront is our default, and instalments are available on request. Just ask, and we will arrange a split.
Can a writer under 18 take part?
Yes. Young writers are welcome; a parent or guardian is simply involved in the agreement.
When and how are royalties paid?
We share sales reports and pay royalties on a regular schedule, and you can track your sales through the Author Portal.
