About the author

Sheema Mehkar

I am a writer, poet, painter and calligrapher. Although I have been pursuing different forms of art as a medium of expression, writing has remained my foremost source of happiness and contentment. I have been writing for over a decade now, with my work published in leading papers like The Express Tribune and Daily Times. These pieces entailed commentary on political, social and cultural issues. Alongside this, I have been a part of the magical world of poetry and prose. I am in eternal awe of the immortal power of words and their ability to touch hearts. I believe words are like a thread that connects people across boundaries, and binds them through shared emotions of love, grief, pain, and loss. Centuries may pass, yet a book, a quote, a poem, a story can still resonate with us, reminding us of our common humanity. And that, I believe, is the true beauty of words: their power to bring us together and knit us through tender stitches of words. I feel both fortunate and privileged to belong to this fascinating world of writing, one I had always dreamt of being a part of. I post my work on my Instagram account: @sheema_ _mehkar
