About the TWS Literary Excellence Award

The TWS Literary Excellence Award is Pakistan’s most prestigious competition for writers of all forms. Open to emerging and established writers, the award provides a platform to share original writing with a nationwide and international audience, fostering recognition and literary growth.

Through this award, TWS Publications aims to empower writers by creating meaningful opportunities for their work to be seen, celebrated, and connected with readers.

Eligibility Criteria

There is no age limit for participation; writers of all ages are welcome to submit their work.

The contest is open to writers based in Pakistan only.

Word Limits & Formats

Writers can submit one original piece: poetry up to 60 lines, or prose, essays, memoirs, or other forms up to 3,000 words. Submissions should be in PDF file format.

Rights & Ownership

Writers retain full copyright of their work.

Award

The winning entry will receive a cash prize of 50,000 PKR, among other prizes and opportunities mentioned below.

2nd and 3rd place winners will get a cash prize of 10,000 and 5,000 PKR respectively, and a list of honorable mentions may also be released.

Writers can submit their entry through our online submission form. Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation acknowledging your entry.

Submission Deadline

All entries must be submitted by 21 December 2025, 11:59 PM.

Winner Announcement

The winner will be announced on 27 December 2025 at 7 PM via our Instagram and by email.

Terms & Conditions

Entries may be disqualified for plagiarism, offensive content, or failure to follow submission guidelines.

Only one entry per writer is accepted, and double entries will not be considered.

Evaluation Criteria

All submissions are evaluated by the TWS editorial team along with a panel of guest judges who are experienced writers and literary experts. Each entry is assessed based on originality, creativity, literary style, clarity, emotional impact, and adherence to submission guidelines. Judges also consider narrative structure, thematic depth, and the overall resonance of the work. The winning entry is carefully selected as the piece that demonstrates exceptional literary merit, engages the reader profoundly, and showcases a unique and compelling perspective.
