Tabeer Zahid
My name is Tabeer and I’m a recently graduated doctor with a passion for the written word. I’ve been reading and writing for as long as I can remember; when I was younger, writing stories (read:fanfiction) was what drew me in, but as I’ve gotten older, I find that the words flowing between my fingertips and the screen are often separated by line breaks and half formed sentiments. Writing and then sharing your work with others is an inherently vulnerable experience, and there is not much else—in my experience—that makes one feel so deeply exposed. What followed this realization for me was a hiatus that lasted longer than expected, but the beautiful paradox is that my love for writing was resuscitated by the same hands that had tried to smother it. This new beginning brought with it another gift: a novel apathy for how “good” my work was. Like all things, I am still a work in progress (apologies for the pun but I couldn’t resist), and while I still do not write as often as I would like to, the fact that I am writing again at all is enough for now. You can find my writing account on instagram (@browningpages) but I must advise you not to expect much, because I only post something once or twice a year. I can only hope that there is someone out there who will resonate with it. And if not, that’s okay too.
