My body reminds me I'm alive by trying to kill me

Maheen Sohail Malik

Dear Reader,
My name is Maheen Sohail Malik, and after 15 years of being a woman, a girl, a thought daughter, the angry one, or just me, this is part of my soliloquies, bled onto paper for you to read. I’m really just a girl who stays in her room all day, blasting her white girl music, writing a new piece after every minor inconvenience, reading a book that has been on my shelf for months because I buy a book practically every time I step outside of my house, or watching the F1 race. I’ve been published once before with TWS Publications in “Eden’s Cry”, and after that I met a litany of people, many of whom I believed would make it onto this page, yet not all things last forever, hence as my one last try, I let their essence live as long as my words do. This is for those who stayed, even when they had every reason to leave: Neha and Jannat. I hope you find pieces of yourself where I left my whole.

With all my love.
