About The Book
My Beloveds Belong to Instagram isn't solely about social media; it carries broader meanings. The term "Instagram" here symbolizes the modern world—a world that often lacks authenticity. The protagonists of the play have their roots in a village and move to the city to pursue higher education. The conflict arises when the male protagonist desires to return to his roots, while the female protagonist decides to stay in the city. The play also explores the injustices and corruption within educational institutions, the role of teachers in either building or destroying the nation, and delves into themes of politics, journalism, and the cost of standing by the truth.
About The Author
Greetings to my dear readers!
It’s an overwhelming moment for me to present to you my second book. I wrote this during the hot days and nights of Multan. If you’ve read my first play, which is fictional, you might notice the word “dear.” If you haven’t or are planning to read it, this word belongs to you too. Let me warn you before you dive in; this is not a fictional play. For me, this play is an “emotion”. I have touched on sensitive issues in this book, and one of them is the “emotions of students.”
You might be wondering, why do I write about emotions and feelings? Why do I portray sad themes? In my classes, whenever we start studying a new writer or poet, our teachers always emphasize the importance of understanding the era they belong to. This is the simple answer to those questions: “This is the era I belong to.” An era where emotions and feelings often go unrecognized, where sadness, injustice, and corruption have permeated our society. So what else is there to write about? But don’t get me wrong—I’m not here to spread hopelessness. Always remember, no matter what happens, keep moving forward. It’s okay if the cost of staying true to yourself and your country is high; there is always hope. Always.
Happy reading!
