Good girls don’t stare at their own thighs.

Hamda Abbas

I bear the name Hamda Abbas.

I am a first-year Applied Psychology major. My favorite subjects—the ones I love to think about and talk about—are God, religion, my future husband, my future children, the human body, mind and soul, introspection, sexuality, psychology, Vedic astrology, literature, philosophy, erotica, and anything considered taboo.

This piece is only a fragment of a larger concept; I wanted to write more but found it impossible to confine everything to seven pages.

I've never shared my work online before, as it is deeply personal and stems from my inner struggles with faith—questioning God.

I want to thank Api Kalyanni, a mother-like figure to me, who always encouraged me to write. And so I wrote what I had always wanted to put into words.

If you are interested in discussing my work, please feel free to reach out to me on my personal Instagram account, @hamdaabbas._
