I am Minahil, a student who likes art, design, and writing. Most of what I create comes from a mix of overthinking, aggressive people-watching, and trying to understand why society is the way it is. I enjoy noticing tiny everyday details, eating cookies, and I am deeply in love with cats—who, honestly, judge me way less than the local aunties do. This piece, High Tea, Low Heavens, is a product of that overthinking. It explores the heavy friction of defying expectations in Pakistan and the sharp irony of “Log kya kahenge?”—specifically how societal judgment feels completely suffocating, yet lasts about as long as a plate of tea biscuits before everyone moves on to the next scandal.
