About this book

Moon and I is a compilation of all the conversations i’ve had with the moon in the darkness of night. When I fail to form sentences in front of people, I have the moon with me who’s always there for me despite the distance. This book is about home, loneliness, fears, loss and every feeling that saddens people; specially when they’re by themselves.

Excerpts

Read a little of the book.

Moon and I, p. 13

home is no longer a place with four walls but where my baba and i sit, sipping chai in the evening. it is in the kitchen with my amma where we have long conversations while standing. where my brother and i go on a drive. and, in my village where my sister lays still. home is all the places i can be with these four people.

Moon and I, p. 31

my sister knew how to leave a mark without staining anything. she knew how to write down her name on the hearts of people for the rest of their lives. my sister lives even after she couldn’t anymore.

Moon and I, p. 60

i dont have to fit in order to belong here. i belong with the sunsets and with the constellation of stars. i belong with the heartbreak that even poets fail to write about. my existence in this world is enough proof that i do belong here.
