Yusra Amjad
I am a poet and comedian from Lahore, Pakistan. I completed my MFA at Sarah Lawrence College on a Fulbright scholarship. I’ve been published in Pleiades, The Missing Slate, The Noble Gas Quarterly, The Aleph Review, L'Ephemere Review, Wasafiri Magazine, Dawn News, NONIIN Magazine, and others. My poetry has also been featured by Oxfam, Amnesty International and Vice News. You can find my poetry at @yusraamjadwrites on Instagram. I was also nominated for the 2016 Pushcart prize for my poem Muhammad, which explored my complicated relationship with Islam. Due to Pakistan’s draconian blasphemy law, it was published under a pseudonym.
